Personal Area Network (PAN): A very small network, usually connecting personal devices like laptops, smartphones, and tablets within a narrow range such as a single room. PANs are ideal for home or personal applications.


Enterprise Network: A network designed to meet the needs of large organizations, connecting various company branches or offices across the internet or through private networks. Enterprise networks are more complex due to the high demands for security and high-speed data transmission.


3. Classification of Networks by Communication Method
Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Network: In this type of network, communication happens directly between devices without the need for a central server. Each device acts as both a server and a client. P2P networks are typically used in small environments like homes or small networks.


Client-Server Network: This network divides the work between the server, which provides the service, and the clients that request the service. This type of network is commonly used in large-scale environments such as corporate networks that require centralized data storage on servers.

Virtual Private Network (VPN): A network that allows secure connection over the internet through data encryption. It provides users secure access to the internet and other network resources from different geographical locations.
